Brief Academic Achievements :

Served Bangalore University as Post-Doctoral Fellow, Lecturer, Reader, Professor and UGC BSR Faculty Fellow at Department of Botany from 1975 to 2015 and officiated three terms as Chairperson of the Department of Botany and Co-ordinator, Department of Molecular Biology, Bangalore University during 2006-2012. Member of Academic Council three terms and elected Senate Member (2001-2003) of the Bangalore University, Bangalore. Guided 23 students for Ph.D., degree and 16 for M.Phil., degree from Bangalore University and published 120 research papers in National and International Journals with high Impact factor. Received many prestigious awards and honors in India and abroad in the field of Plant Biotechnology. Established the Plant Biotechnology Unit at Janan Bharathi Campus, Bangalore University with financial support from projects sanctioned by DBT, DST, UGC , New Delhi and instrumental in instituting M.Sc., Molecular Biology Course at Bangalore University during 2006. Peer committee members of the NAAC (2011 to to-date). Served as expert member for WOS-A of DST, New Delhi (2007-2012). Served the Society of Cytologists and Geneticists as Treasurer and presently serving as Secretary of the Society. I have been awarded by the Society Fellow of Cytologists and Geneticists (FSCG).
